Interlake’s Farrell signs with UW, Bellevue outlasts Totems | Prep sports roundup

Isabel Farrell, who helped Interlake to its first ever girls soccer state championship during the fall, signed a letter of intent on signing day to play for the University of Washington.

Bellevue 80 Sammamish 64

The Wolverines completed the season sweep over crosstown Sammamish with a 22-12 advantage in the first period and 18 points from senior Tyler Hasty. Michael Carlson added 15, Cole Walton 14 and Timmy Haehl nine more for Bellevue in the win. George Valle paced the Totems with 16 while John Steinberg finished with 15 more.

Bellevue 62 Sammamish 32

Carly Best led the way for Bellevue with 15 points in the win and was helped by the 12 points from each Shelby Fanning and Katie Savard. Kelsey Brooks and Helen Yang both ended the night with nine for Sammamish.

Farrell signs with Huskies

Isabel Farrell, who helped Interlake to its first ever girls soccer state championship during the fall, signed a letter of intent on signing day to play for the University of Washington.

“I am extremely excited about the group of young women that we are signing this year” Washington head coach Lesle Gallimore said. “They are a multifaceted group of players and all are the type of high-achieving student that has come to epitomize our program.  I couldn’t be more anxious to get them on campus and start working with all of them as they adjust to soccer at the collegiate level.”

Farrell has starred for US National teams as well as Crossfire Premier throughout her career and was named 3A KingCo co-MVP and Regional Player of the Year during her senior season for the Saints.

Bellevue alum honored by ECAC

Dana Bonincontri, a 2009 graduate of Bellevue and gymnast for Penn was honored as the ECAC Specialist of the Week for her performance on the uneven bars and beam.

Bonincontri, who was competing for the first time since breaking her leg, earned a mark of 9.775 on the bars and 9.625 on ht beam.

She is currently tied for 12th place on the bars and 10th on the beam.
