Interlake punches ticket to state tournament

The Interlake Saints defeated the Mercer Island Islanders 2-1 in the Class 3A KingCo championship game on May 11 in Mercer Island. Interlake clinched a berth in the Class 3A state tournament with the victory. Jason Rodriguez scored two goals (36th minute, 61st minute) in the win. Ivan Castillo had one assist as well for the Saints. The Saints will host a Class 3A state playoff game on May 20 at Interlake High School in Bellevue.

Heron Athletic club is conducting tryouts

The Heron Athletic Club, a soccer club serving the Eastside region, is hosting tryouts for its various teams in May. The U-13 and U-14 tryouts for both the boys and girls teams will take place on May 16 at Newport Hills Park and on May 17 at International School. Newport edges Bothell in second round of KingCo tourney

The Newport Knights registered a 1-0 victory against the Bothell Cougars in the second round of the Class 4A KingCo playoffs on May 11 in Woodinville.  The Knights faced the Woodinville Falcons in a winner-to-state KingCo championship game on May 13. Bellevue conquers Juanita, loses against Lake Washington in second contest

The Bellevue Wolverines hung on for a 6-5 win against the Juanita Rebels in the first round of the Class 3A KingCo playoffs on May 9 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. Lake Washington defeated Bellevue 14-6 in the Class 3A KingCo Championship game on May 11 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
