Interlake defeats powerhouse Mercer Island

The Interlake Saints girls tennis team defeated the Mercer Island Islanders 4-3 on March 31.

It was the first time the Islanders suffered a league defeat since 2007 in a dual match. Interlake players winning matches in singles action consisted of Angle Le, Jessica Liang, Shreyaa Mukund and Lina Laron.

SOFTBALL

Sammamish loses to Mercer Island in KingCo contest

Mercer Island defeated the Sammamish Totems 16-12 in a high scoring matchup on April 1. The Totems (3-4) will face the Liberty Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on April 11 in Renton.

LACROSSE

Bellevue cruises to win against Lakeridge

Bellevue defeated Lakeridge 12-4 in a non-league contest on April 2 at Bellevue High School. Bellevue will host the Juanita Rebels at 8 p.m. on April 15 at Bellevue High School.

GOLF

Interlake conquers Bellevue

The Interlake Saints girls golf team earned a 227-234 win (low score wins in golf) against the Bellevue Wolverines in a Class 3A KingCo golf match on March 30 at Overlake Golf Course.

Interlake freshman Samantha Na shot a 43 in the contest. Freshman Katie Kester shot a 44 and senior Delaney Douglas shot a 44 in win.

SOCCER

Newport loses close game against Skyline on the soccer pitch  in KingCo 4A contest

The Skyline Spartans earned a 3-2 win against the Newport Knights on March 29.

Newport (2-4) will face the Issaquah Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 at Gary Moore Field in Issaquah.

Bellevue earns shutout against Juanita

The Bellevue Wolverines defeated the Juanita Rebels 2-0 on April 1. Bellevue (2-2-2) will host the Mercer Island Islanders at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 at Bellevue High School.

Interlake dominates Sammamish in rivalry matchup between schools

Jason Rodriguez scored a team-high three goals in Interlake’s convincing 6-0 victory against the Sammamish Totems on March 29. Austin Ball added two goals and Owen Gortner scored a goal as well.

Interlake (4-2) will host Mercer Island at 7:30 p.m. on April 13 in Bellevue. Sammamish (0-5) will face the Liberty Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 in Renton.
