Bellevue’s Preston breaks school records for Dartmouth

Bellevue grad Hillary Preston closed out her Dartmouth swimming career with a pair of All-Ivy League honors following a stellar showing at the 2009 Ivy Championships.

Preston broke three school records at the championships and earned first-team All-Ivy honors after becoming Dartmouth’s first-ever Ivy Champion in the 50 freestyle in a school record time of 23:29.

She was named second team All-Ivy after taking second in the 100 freestyle in another school record time of 56.87.

Preston also set a school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.87, which earned her a ninth place finish.

She was also a part of the Big Green’s 400 freestyle relay team that broke the school record with a time of 3:23.35, which helped Dartmouth race to a third-place finish.

Preston is from Medina and is the daughter of Steve and Laurel Preston. Preston was a co-captain of the Wolverines during her four years on the swim team and was a three-time All-American.
