Make your voice heard on superintendent choice

The Bellevue School District is close to selecting a new superintendent. Three candidates have been chosen as finalists. Sadly, few parents and community members so far have attended the community forums for them to meet and hear the three finalists.

The Bellevue School District is close to selecting a new superintendent. Three candidates have been chosen as finalists.

It’s an important position and likely will have a major impact on the education our children receive. Sadly, few parents and community members so far have attended the community forums to meet and hear the three finalists.

But it’s not too late. A community form for one of the candidates, Dr. Mark Mitrovich, will be today beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the International School, 445 128th Ave. SE. On Thursday, a forum for Dr. Justin (Tim) Mills will be at 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St. A forum for a third candidate, Dr. Alex Apostle, was on Tuesday.

Parents and others in the community are key to helping the School Board make the right choice. Remember, the next generation of leaders are in Bellevue classrooms today.
