Bellevue’s Fire Station 10 process was not transparent | Letter

The Reporter's recent article about the new Fire Station 10 may have left the impression that the city of Bellevue and the Bellevue Fire Department were open and transparent about the selection process. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The Reporter’s recent article about the new Fire Station 10 may have left the impression that the city of Bellevue and the Bellevue Fire Department were open and transparent about the selection process. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The truth is that a stealth process has been going on for years and the people who will be most adversely affected by the new fire station weren’t notified until after the project was pretty much a done deal. Having a community outreach program after the fact is too little, too late. Citizens, especially those who will lose their homes, deserve more respect from the city.
