Gloria May Miller

Gloria May Miller passed away April 10, 2011 at age 85. Gloria was born on May 21, 1926 to Russell and Sarah Cromwell. After graduating from high school in Philadelphia, Gloria attended Methodist Hospital and became a CN, a vocation she excelled at until retiring as a Nursing Supervisor in Bellevue, WA. Gloria fell in love and married three times. Her second husband, Ted Miller, was stationed in Newfoundland. There they adopted a son, Mark Randall. Her last husband, Philip, had two children, Brett and Karen, whom Gloria loved as her own. Their memories are of a caring, beautiful woman who displayed dignity and class in all situations. She also sported an incredible trademark red hairdo that Brett described as the ‘9th Wonder of the World.’ To Gloria, the Wonders of the World were her five grandchildren. Gloria loved all her family, particularly her younger brother, Vern, who passed away in 2007. Vern’s wife, Barbara, and four sons maintained a close, loving relationship with Gloria until the end. Gloria had many talents and interests. She loved to cook and entertain. She often travelled abroad with her long-time companion, Keith Jones. Other passions included Bridge and painting (she loved old barns and seascapes). She also loved reading mysteries and Louis Lamour westerns. Gloria was a romantic at heart, and in the hearts of her family, she will be sorely missed. For more about Gloria or to share remembrances, visit Gloria Cromwell Miller on Facebook.
