On January 27, 2017, Chris passed away at his home in Seattle. Chris was born in Seattle on December 28, 1961, the son of Lee and Doris Dunavant. He graduated from Bellevue High and served as a Bellevue police officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dan Lee Dunavant and sister Brenda Joyce Hornbeck. He is survived by his daughter, Marielle, and his brothers Terry (Alice) Dunavant, Max (Lorine) Dunavant, Don (Susan) Dunavant, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at All Pilgrims Christian Church, 500 east Broadway, Seattle, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
