The Washington State Transportation Department will close the eastbound Interstate 90 high-occupancy vehicle exit to Bellevue Way for 35 days, starting 10 p.m. tonight, for the agency and Sound Transit’s Two-Way Transit and HOV Operations project.

Work will be performed to realign the exit ramp and preserve all general purpose lanes while adding all-day carpool lanes to I-90. The project also allows Sound Transit to begin work extending light rail from Seattle to Redmond. The project will wrap up in mid-2015, and crews will also close the HOV ramp from eastbound I-90 to Interstate 405 for up to eight weeks prior to that.
