Wildlife workshop offered by parks department

The Bellevue Parks and Recreation Department will offer a number of wildlife workshops or movies in February.

The offerings, at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center or Lewis Creek Park, will include wildlife tracking, geology from Mountains to Sound, nature movies, wildlife photography, and more.

Birds and Beaks will be offered from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Lewis Creek Park. The program will explore why birds have such a variety of beaks and how and what they eat. The program will be presented by the Eastside Audubon Society.

The activity, for children ages 6 and up, will include making a bird feeder to take home. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required (course #45912) and a $2 donation suggested for materials.
