Weekend lane closures set on northbound I-405 in south Bellevue

Crews paving this weekend means drivers heading northbound on I-405 in Bellevue should plan extra time for their trips and expect delays.

Crews working to widen I-405 in Bellevue will close one lane on northbound I-405 in Bellevue between 112th Avenue Southeast and Coal Creek Parkway through 5 a.m. Monday. A second lane will close nightly for the following two nights:

* Midnight until 8 a.m. Sunday

* 11 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.

The closures are necessary to give crews room to pave the new northbound I-405 lane between 112th Avenue Southeast and Coal Creek Parkway. Crews also will close the following ramps until 5 a.m. Monday:

* The ramp from 112th Ave. S.E. to northbound I-405.

* The ramp from northbound I-405 to Coal Creek Parkway.

If possible, drivers should use I-5 and avoid the area, officials say, otherwise there may be several miles of backups. Drivers who need to use I-405 in Bellevue should slow down, use caution and pay close attention to detour signage while driving in what will be an active construction zone.
