Update: Missing Bellevue woman found safe in Des Moines

An 89-year-old Bellevue woman reported missing after failing to return home Friday night was located around 1 p.m. 20 miles away in Des Moines. Police state Patricia Thomas was found safe and unharmed after someone recognized the Bellevue woman's vehicle and license plates from media reports and called law enforcement.

Police are seeking assistance in locating an 89-year-old Bellevue woman who did not return home Friday night and may be suffering the early stages of Alzheimer’s.

Patricia “Pat” W. Thomas went out running errands Friday in her silver 2009 Chevrolet Aveo (Plate number: 531-YKK) but never returned, and her son reported not finding her at any of her usual destinations.  He also reported Thomas has been getting confused lately and may have gotten lost.

Anyone who locates Thomas is asked to call 9-1-1. She is known to visit Chace’s Pancake Corral before shopping in the Overlake neighborhood and at the Bartell Drugs and Rite Aid in downtown Bellevue. She is described as five-foot-three-inches tall, 100 pounds and keeps her gray hair in a ponytail, usually dressed in sweat pants and tennis or leather shoes.
