An elderly Fairwood couple was found dead in their home Saturday night. After several days of searching police arrested Michael Boysen, 26, the couple’s grandson, in an Oregon hotel room.

The bodies of the husband, Robert R. Taylor, 82, and wife, Norma J. Taylor, 80, were found at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, said spokeswoman Cindi West of the sheriff’s department, after the couple’s daughter called the police.

Boysen was last seen at their home in the 16200 block of 145th Avenue Southeast, Friday night. Police initially said his relationship to the crime scene was unclear, but on Sunday announced that he was wanted for questioning in his grandparents’ murders.

Boysen was released from the Monroe Correctional Facility on Friday, after serving a year for burglary. His family threw him a welcome home party and he was to spend the night at his grandparents. Though the cause of death has not yet been revealed, police say it was a heinous crime. Boysen’s internet activity revealed searches for gun shows in Nevada and the Pacific Northwest, and police think he may have been seeking firearms. In a press conference on Monday, King County Sheriff John Urquhart said that Boysen had talked about killing his grandparents and authority figures, before.

On Tuesday a hotel clerk called the police after hearing reports on the news and realizing that she had checked in a man by the same name on Monday. A SWAT team found Boysen with self-inflicted wounds. A helicopter flew him to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center where he was said to be in critical condition.
