Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress and India Association of Western Washington have established Eastside offices at Together Center in Redmond.

The Harborview center provides services and support for children, youth and adults who have experienced sexual assault or other traumatic events. The program provides trauma therapy services that were previously provided by Harborview Children’s Response Center. That program closed at the end of September due to budget cuts.

“The Together Center location is ideal for our work,” said Connie Au, a clinical social worker with Harborview. “We already work closely with Sound Mental Health and other agencies on campus. It is very helpful to provide services at the same location.”

The India association has been serving the Indian population of Puget Sound since 1980s. The Together Center’s office in Redmond is the second for the organization. It focus in four areas: Cultural and Festival Programs, Youth Program, Social Responsibility Programs and a Seniors Program (led by Dr. Pran Wahi), which provides a forum for social interaction, cultural assimilation and support for seniors from India. The program also holds workshops on senior-related services, such as Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security, prescription drug programs, and nutrition.
