Tweet about Bellevue dog goes viral

Update: The Jack Russell Terrier-Chihuahua mix found by police late last month in Robinswood Park is now up for adoption at Regional Animal Services of King County.

Now known as “Robin” — due to the location where he was found — has not been claimed by anyone since he was found in Bellevue on Nov. 29.

He has been checked over by veterinarians and evaluated for temperament by Animal Services staff. While police initially reported he was angry, it appears that was just due to his mismatched outfit. Staff report that he is a calm creature and is ready for a new home.

A runaway dog found in Bellevue wearing a green shirt and blue pants has captured the attention of people across the country.

Bellevue police officers located the black-and-white collie mix — referred to online as “Pants Dog” — in Robinswood Park on Nov. 29. The angry pup had no tags and was wearing a green sweater with baseballs on it and blue pants.

“Is this your dog? Caught by Officer at Robinswood Park. Was wearing a sweater and blue pants, and very angry. Contact Issaquah,” the department tweeted a few days later in search for the owner.

Their tweet went viral, gaining over two million views by Monday and getting picked up by news outlets across the country.

The dog has since been placed in the custody of the Regional Animal Services of King County. If his owner does not claim him soon, officials said the dog will be up for adoption — pants not included.
