Armed student texts threat: A Sammamish High School assistant principal called to report that a student might be a danger to himself. Two school resource officers learned that the student went home after a text message fight with his girlfriend, and that he texted her a veiled suicide threat. The student is known to have firearms at home. Three of the student’s friends went to his house to check on him, and one subsequently snapchatted a photo of him holding an AR-15 rifle. The student’s parents confirmed that he owned a real AR-15 rifle and had access to ammunition for the weapon as well as access to several other firearms in the house. Additionally, in 2011 he threatened to harm people with a knife. Attempts to contact him by phone, text and other forms of social media were unsuccessful. An officer used a patrol car speaker system to call the student out of the house, and he was taken into protective custody without incident. He claimed he was asleep and did not hear the phone. His parents allowed officers to take custody of his guns and hold them for safekeeping.

Responding officers saw grey coyotes in the distance with a small dog in its mouth. It was determined that a couple was most likely walking their dog in the greenbelt near Northeast 29th Street and Bellevue Way when the coyote attacked and seized the dog. A similar attack occurred two months ago at the same location, and those officers were able to find a coyote den in the ravine and a dead carcass of a small dog. Animal Control was notified along with the apartment complex security officer to warn residents while walking their dogs. The owner of the killed dog did not report the attack and was never located.

She said they are from India and she never thought she could report abuse, but was feeling more confident about no longer having to put up with it, so she called today. Herm husband denied the assault, but was arrested for domestic violence.
