Tests start on counting equipment

King County Elections is performing logic and accuracy tests on all equipment used to count and process ballots at the polls at the Election Distribution Center in Seattle. The tests started Monday and will run all week.

King County Elections is performing logic and accuracy tests on all equipment used to count and process ballots at the polls at the Election Distribution Center in Seattle. The tests started Monday and will run all week.

Logic and accuracy tests for vote counting equipment used to tally absentee ballots, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at King County Elections headquarters in Renton.

Logic and accuracy testing is a standard pre-election procedure and is preformed to ensure that tabulation hardware and software equipment are functioning properly and are accurately programmed for each election. Following the test, all equipment will be locked and sealed until the date of the primary, Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008.
