The Eastside Catholic School Chapter of Washington DECA will be collecting children’s car seats to give to families in need.
People with car seats that are gently used, less than six years old, and have never been in a collision will be accepted Dec. 12-13 at Bellevue’s Merry Go Round Children’s Store, 1014 116th Ave. NE.
Car seats that are not up to safety standards set by the Traffic Safety Coalition will have recyclable parts separated out from unusable parts, and be kept out of landfills. Any car seat, no matter how old or used, can be donated.
Those unable to donate on the event days, can contact the Eastside Catholic School DECA program and arrange a pick up.
Students want to give less fortunate families a safe, proper child restraints.
For each car seat donated, the donor will receive a coupon, for $10 off the family’s next car seat at Merry Go Round, or can choose to have that money donated to the Traffic Safety Coalition.
