“Sound Blessing,” a performance by René Jenkins using ancient indigenous instruments, will be performed from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Unity of Bellevue.

Jenkins, a ceremonial sound practitioner, will perform using the didjeridu, Condor Quill Antara, Mayan, Peruvian, Zapotec, and Hawaiian ritual flutes, Chimu whistling water vessels, conch shells, Tibetan bowls, bells, Tingshas, organic percussive instrument and more.

Since 1993, Jenkins has performed what he calls “sacred sound blessings” using ancient ancestral instruments from the Americas, Australia and Asia. He says his performance is designed to raise well-being and the vibration of consciousness “through intention and sound.”

The performance is “based on Peruvian cosmology, ancestral wisdom and modern healing principles,” he says. Tickets are $30, but no one will be turned away.

Jenkins also will perform the special music during worship services at 9 and 11 a.m. at the church.

Unity of Bellevue is at 16330 N.E. Fourth St. in Bellevue. Tickets to the performance are available at www.unityofbellevue.org or at the church.
