Seven Civil Air Patrol cadets explore flying

Seven members of the Overlake Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol took two weeks out of their summer to learn more about aviation and, in some cases, how to fly.

Seven members of the Overlake Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol took two weeks out of their summer to learn more about aviation and, in some cases, how to fly.

Of those, Cadet Geoffrey Davis attended as an advanced glider student and earned his solo wings at the activity.

Other squadron members included Cadet Lila Balakrishnan who attended as a basic glider student, Cadet Eric Hyde who attended as a basic glider student, Cadet Christine Shoemaker who attended as an advanced glider student, Cadet Genevieve Davis who attended as Cadet Staff, and Cadet Donnie Carroll who attended as Cadet Staff. Cadet Mitchell Holliday who is the Cadet Commander of Overlake Composite Squadron was also the Cadet Commander of the activity.

Civil Air Patrol was created in 1941 as the Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. The Overlake Composite Squadron meets every Tuesday Evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Redmond National Guard Site.
