September seminars set at Wells Medina Nursery

Wells Medina Nursery will celebrate fall by sharing some of its favorite autumnal designs and preparations in four classes beginning in September.

The first, Fire It Up! Fall Containers, will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 10. Kelly McNeese, annuals buyer for the nursery will demonstrate and discuss the virtues of using colorful evergreen and deciduous shrubs, perennials and groundcovers in fall containers.

The second and third classes, taught again by McNeese along with fellow annuals buyer Molly Malecki, will allow customers to put together their own hanging baskets. Moss Baskets: Inspiration and Design takes place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 17. Fall Brilliance in Hanging Baskets takes place at 11 a.m. on September 26.

The fourth offering in September, Buried Treasures: Bulbs, will be led by horticulturalist Jim Fox. It will focus on the four seasons of bulbs, from design with bulbs to tips about discouraging deer and squirrels. This seminar will take place at 11 a.m. on September 26.
