Seattle Humane 5k planned in Robinswood Park

Students from Interlake High School are organizing a 5k run/walk at Bellevue’s Robinswood Park this Saturday, March 4.

The event will be held to benefit the Seattle Humane Society and check-in begins at 9 a.m. with the race to follow at 9:30 p.m.

This run is open to everyone and pets are welcome! Funds are raised for the Seattle Humane Society through the race fee of $20. Either bring cash/check to the run or make a $20 donation to Seattle Humane online and show the receipt.

The donation page is http://www.seattlehumane.org/donate/donate-now. To sign up for the run please visit the following page: https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=90346.

In 2016, the Seattle Humane Society adopted out more than 6,000 pets to members of our community.

According to one organizer, “they have dedicated volunteers and staff that work daily to ensure that the animals are well cared for and can find loving homes. Furthermore, Seattle Humane is a no-kill shelter with a live release rate of 98.77 percent! All of this incredible work cannot occur without the appropriate funds. We, the students at Interlake High School, are passionate about animal care and welfare and hope to help Seattle Humane save lives. We are organizing this fundraiser for SHS in order to do our part in protecting the animals of our community.”
