Rock blasting cancelled tonight on I-90 east of Snoqualmie Pass

Drivers planning to travel over Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass won’t have to worry about getting stuck in a rock blasting closure tonight.

Drivers planning to travel over Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass won’t have to worry about getting stuck in a rock blasting closure tonight.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and contractor crews decided to postpone the blast scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.

Rock blasting is part of the $551 million I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East – Hyak to Keechelus Dam project to widen a five-mile stretch of the highway from four to six lanes and improve reliability and safety. The project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2017.
