Prudential’s 17th Annual Global Volunteer Day is Saturday, Oct. 1. All are invited to join Prudential Northwest Realty volunteers worldwide as they come together to make a difference.
Employees at Prudential are once again electing to have a food drive to help fill the shelves of local food banks for the coming winter. This is the 8th Annual food drive Prudential has hosted, raising more than $100,000 in cash donations and 100,000 pounds of food.
The event is 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1 at the following locations to collect food and donations. Safeway: 300 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue or QFC: 10116 NE Eighth St., Bellevue, QFC: 460 E North Bend Way, North Bend and Safeway: 17230 140th Ave. SE, Renton.
People may drop off donations at the Prudential office from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sept. 26 and Oct. 1, 200 112th Ave. NE, #200, Bellevue.
Or, send a check (made payable to your local food bank), and Prudential will make sure they receive it. “In today’s economy, many communities and charities are tasked with serving more people with fewer resources,” said Mary O’Malley, vice president, Local Initiatives. “Global Volunteer Day offers associates the opportunity to organize and participate in projects that can help meet those challenges.” As part of this year’s Global Volunteer Day, The Prudential Foundation will support U.S. troops and their families by donating $1 to the USO for every registered U.S. volunteer. In addition, it will donate $1 to organizations that support Japanese earthquake relief efforts for every registered volunteer in overseas locations.
As in past years, The Prudential Foundation will provide $110,000 to volunteers and their partner organizations through 110 grants of $1,000 each.
