Previously convicted sex offender get arrested in Bellevue for soliciting a minor

According to Bellevue Police, the man is a four-time convicted sex offender.

Bellevue Police have arrested a 49-year-old previously convicted sex offender after he offered money in exchange for sex acts from a detective posing as a minor using an online dating app.

Christopher Longie is being charged by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor and communication with a minor for immoral purposes after he used Grindr to message a person who identified as being 16-years-old and offered that person $75 to allow him to perform oral sex on them.

According to police documents, Longie’s Grindr username was “older 4 younger” and he contacted an account named “Teen Aaron” who told Longie he was 16-years-old, even though it was actually a Bellevue Police Detective posing as a minor for the purposes of the sting.

Reportedly, Longie also solicited genital pictures from the detective posing as a minor.

Longie was arrested when he went to meet up with the person he thought was a minor.

According to Bellevue Police, Longie is a four-time convicted sex offender, convictions which involved child molestation and rape of a child.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office argued at Longie’s first appearance that he is a danger to the community and asked a judge to set bail at $150,000.

His next court date is his arraignment at 8:30 am March 21 in the King County Courthouse.
