Preston Drew of Carnation wins seat on King Conservation District

Preston Drew of Carnation has been elected to a three-year term as a member of the King Conservation District board of supervisors following a final canvassing of votes cast in the districtwide election held March 19.

The final vote tallies for elected board position #3 gave Drew 1,357 votes, David Mauk of Carnation 175 votes, and write-in candidate Mark Sollitto of Seattle 1,199 votes.

The total voter turnout marked more than doubled the highest turnout numbers in the last five years of King CD elections, according the Executive Director Jeffrey Possinger.

The district worked with Bellevue-based election administrator Election Trust.

The district includes most of King County.

Conservation district supervisors are expected to help identify critical resource conservation needs in their district, communicate with the public and seek feedback about conservation programs from district residents.
