Bellevue police closed off portions of Northeast 8th Street around 1:30 p.m., Nov. 26, and prepared to close in on a suspect who had made threats against his girlfriend.
The man was thought to be at an apartment along the 800 block of 140th Avenue Northeast.
Police blocked off Northeast 8th Street between 134th Avenue Northeast and 140th Avenue Northeast around 1:30 p.m. as they prepared take action.
“The road is closed and we’re getting ready to close in on the apartment where we think he’s at,” said Bellevue Police Officer Greg Grannis.
Police had the victim with them at the time, Grannis said.
Swarms of police cruisers and motorcycles were spotted in the vicinity around 2 p.m., and a helicopter was circling the area.
Grannis could not confirm whether the aircraft was a King County Sheriff’s chopper.
