Picnic and concert on the Lawn at Bellevue City Hall tonight

The city of Bellevue is inviting residents to celebrate community service and community building at a free picnic dinner and concert on the lawn at City Hall from 6-8 p.m. today. Thes family friendly event will feature a free picnic dinner, sponsored by Whole Foods Market, Bellevue and entertainment by Two Scoops Combo.

In addition to food and musical entertainment, the evening will feature a brief recognition of the special efforts of neighborhoods that have participated in Neighbor Link projects this summer. Award will be presented for projects that are especially creative and/or beneficial to the community. For the top three contenders, Whole Foods Market, Bellevue will award picnic dinners in the winning neighborhoods.

In addition to over a dozen food drives, creative neighborhood projects include such activities as a neighborhood dinner for tent city residents, two fund-raising jazz concerts sponsored by a local church, a senior safety summit, a carnival and picnic for food bank recipients, and much more.

Bellevue residents are encouraged to bring the family and to bring a bag of food for Hopelink.
