The Seattle Humane Society is now open seven days a week for adoptions.

The permanent change comes as the shelter launches its “Home for the Holidays” campaign, with the goal of getting as many orphan animals into homes before the holidays as possible.

Animal lovers can visit the shelter any day of the week from noon until 6 p.m. The Seattle Humane Society is located in Bellevue at the junction of I-405 and I-90.

More than 40 people are expected to participate in a Jazzercise benefit class to collect non-perishable food for Hopelink, at the Annual Jazzercise Thanksgiving Day Jazzercise/Hopelink Food Drive at 9 a.m. Nov. 27 at the North Bellevue Community Center, 4063 148th Ave. NE.

Each participant may attend the class for free with a donation of two food items which will be given to Hopelink in efforts to help fill Christmas Food Baskets.

Singers and others with musical talent can add to the holiday spirit while helping local food banks.

The Top Food & Drug store in Crossroads will make a donation of $50 to a local food bank for each hour a group presents holiday music.

Groups must register in advance for a time at the guest services counter of the store, 15751 NE 15 St., or by calling the store.

St. Madeleine Sophie Parish & School’s first mini online auction is open, with proceeds helping support scholarships and ministries.

AAA Washington is kicking off its new “Soap for Hope” donation drive to collect toiletry items and distribute them to persons in need via local shelters, food banks and other charitable organizations. Donations dropped off at the Bellevue AAA office, 14404 NE 20th St., Suite 150, will benefit the YWCA Women’s Center in Bellevue.

Donations will be accepted Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Unopened, travel- and full-size items will be accepted.

Eastside Baby Corner needs donations of new or gently-used clothing for children (up to size 14), strollers, high chairs, cribs, toys, blankets, diapers and more.

Donations can be dropped off at the distribution center at 1510 Maple Street NW in Issaquah, on Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. or on Thursday, 9-11 a.m.
