The Bellevue Neighborhoods Forum, a two-part education and discussion forum for and about neighborhoods, will host its second installment from 6-9 p.m. May 12, at the Crossroads Community Center. The forum will continue the theme of building connected communities and will bring neighbors together for an opportunity to learn, share and think about the future of their neighborhoods.

The forum will explore the changing demographics of the community. Bellevue has become home to an aging and diverse population. While the number of youth under 18 dwindles in other communities, Bellevue continues to hold steady. The forum will address how we develop community connections that include these three population segments.

The evening will kick off with a panel presentation and dinner courtesy of forum sponsor, Chipotle Mexican Grill. Expert panelists include Helena Stephens, Bellevue Family, Youth & Teen Services Manager; Ralph Ibarra, Diversity Consultant and City of Auburn Diversity Liaison; and Joanne Donohue, Vice President, Senior Services of King County. Following the panel, each participant will choose their primary area of interest and continue discussion with the panelist in that focus area.

Neighborhood Association sponsors for the two-part series are Surrey Downs Community Club, Sunset Community Association, Somerset Community Association, Newport Hills Community Club, Whispering Heights/Collingwood Community Association, Horizon Heights Community Association and Horizon Crest Community Association.

The event is open to the public but reservations are required and space is limited. For information or reservations, contact Neighborhood Outreach at 425-452-6836 or neighborhoodoutreach@bellevuewa.gov.
