Pacific Sound Chorus, a women’s a cappella vocal ensemble, is offering a free three-month membership starting is Jan. 25 that includes vocal education, plus the opportunity to perform with the chorus at their annual “Friends and Family Show” on March 19.

Additionally, free personal voice instruction (PVI) may be scheduled within that three-month period.

Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. Tuesday evenings at Music Works NW, 14360 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue. Women singers of all ages and musical abilities are invited to attend and learn four-part harmony.

The chorus performs regularly throughout the community at civic events and charitable functions, in addition to promoting harmony and friendship among women. The chorus offers a concert protocol as well as a show choir element bordering on musical theater. Think of it as “GLEE for grown-ups,” members say.

Musical knowledge is not necessary to join — voice training and music education are valuable components of members’ benefits. Any woman of average singing ability, with or without vocal training, will find a part that fits her voice range with the help of the chorus directors and leaders.

Pacific Sound Chorus members living in Bellevue are Alice Spencer, Bonnie Kulvinskas, Beth Smith, Glenny Law, Joan Crow, Lea Beverley, Betteann Bond and Marcia Kavanaugh. Members living in Issaquah and Sammamish are: Shirley Roberts, Anne Carr, Jennifer Pittman, Jeaqnnie Grace and Ann Marie Rohaly.
