One hundred years of feeding the hungry, providing clothing to people evicted from their homes and providing holiday meals to families who can’t afford it – this is what Overlake Service League will celebrate this year.
The public is invited to attend an elegant, centennial gala which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue Feb. 12. The dinner and dance take guests on a journey through a century of local history with live music and a captivating visual program. Festive dress, ranging from cocktail dresses, evening wear to history-themed costumes representing a favorite 20th century period, are encouraged. Black tie is optional.
Established in 1911 by a small group of women living on Hunts Point, some may think this nonprofit organization is a dusty organization from the past. But times are a-changing and so is the league. Major changes, including a rebranding and future vision, will be introduced at the celebration.
The evening commences with a hosted reception at 6 p.m. Doors open to the grand ballroom at 7 p.m. for dinner, program and dancing. An audience of past and current members, corporate sponsors and community supporters are expected, and all interested parties are invited to attend.
Each table seats 10, and individuals, couples and groups are all welcome. This event is an opportunity to step out on the town for a great night and a community milestone.
Live music presenting a nostalgic repertoire offers guests the opportunity to “dance through the decades” as part of a program that merges Overlake Service League and local area history from 1911-2011.
The stage program includes two of Bellevue’s most prominent business and community leaders: Kemper Freeman Jr., principal owner and hands-on leader of Kemper Development Company, which has developed a total of 4 million square feet of real estate in Bellevue, and Robert McDowell, IT author and Vice President for Information Worker Business Value at Microsoft Corporation.
Lifetime Community Sponsor, The Bellevue Collection; Centennial Gala Presenting Sponsor Lexus of Bellevue; and Centennial Major Sponsor, Intelius are joined by many other local businesses and foundations in their financial support of this commemorative community event.
Tickets are $150 per person and guests will have the opportunity to participate in the Fund the Future campaign to support the organization. For reservations and further information, visit overlakeserviceleague.org or call 425-451-1175.
