Residents will have a chance to help shape the city budget at two open houses this week.

Currently, city staff are submitting operating budget proposals for the next biennium, along with their capital spending proposals for the years 2013 to 2019. As part of the budget review and decision-making process, the public is invited to learn how the city is developing its budget and give its opinion on how money should be spent.

The two open houses will be Tuesday, from 7-8:30 p.m., Community Room, Crossroads Community Center, 16000 NE 10th St.; and Thursday 7-8:30 p.m., City Hall Room 1E-108.

A short budget questionnaire/comment form will be available for residents to fill out. Anyone unable to attend is welcome to send comments to FinanceDepartment@bellevuewa.gov. A copy of the current budget is available on the Finance Department web page at www.bellevuewa.gov/budgets.htm.
