Residents and others interested in improving pedestrian and bicycle access on 108th Avenue Southeast, from Bellevue Way to Interstate 90, are invited to a pair of open houses on Tuesday, May 18.

To make it convenient for people to attend, the same open house will be presented at morning and evening meetings:

Bellevue Christian Church: Open house from 9-11:30 a.m. at 10808 S.E. 28th St.

Enatai Elementary School: Open house from 3:30-6 p.m. at 10615 S.E. 23rd St.

These events will provide an opportunity for residents who live on or near 108th Avenue Southeast to learn more about options for the improvements, and to offer input about what works and doesn’t work.

Comments so far on the 108th Avenue Southeast, Bellevue Way to I-90 Proposed Pedestrian & Bicycle Improvements project concern on-street parking, tree preservation, walkway placement, bicycle use and traffic calming.

Some of the questions project staff hope attendees at the open houses will address include whether a sidewalk or pathway is preferred, what sections of 108th are most in need of improvement and whether there should be a separate bike lane or a shared lane with vehicles.
