Christine M. Morris, beloved wife, mommy, daughter, sister, and friend, died suddenly and unexpectedly on August 6th at the too young age of 40. Christine had a light that sparkled from within and warmed those around her like a ray of sunshine. She put others first and was loved by everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Always up for adventure, she gathered frequently with friends kept from every stage of her life for live music, picnics, philanthropy, weekends away, swimming, and playdates with children of every age. Everything was more fun when Christine was there.

Christine graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1993, then earned a B.A. in Communications from Washington State University in 1997 where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Christine loved working with people. Her professional career included working as a project manager for a local importing company and earlier, The Seattle Times. Her favorite projects included creative tasks that allowed for collaboration with her clients.

The importance of serving others and helping those less fortunate was ingrained in Christine’s character. She was active in fundraising for the Ryther Child Center and put together Easter baskets, provided birthday cakes, and played bingo with the children struggling to find foster families. Whenever something was needed, she was first to volunteer and also donated her original artwork for fundraising.

Christine married Michael Morris in 2000 and together they have two children, Lukas (7) and Eloise (6). Christine’s family was always her first priority and she was always there when they needing anything. The Morris family had a home filled with love, kindness, and compassion. Christine amazed others with the delicious, healthy original meals she put together nightly after work. She served as head coach of her daughter’s softball team, even though she had no idea how to play softball. She was fearless and like Superwoman! Always taking care of others with a smile on her face, she was constantly in motion unless someone wanted to snuggle.

Christine loved competitive swimming, gardening, cats and all animals, oil painting, home improvement projects and most of all her family and friends. Her snarky sense of humor was legendary and she had smart, honest answers to even the craziest question.

Christine is survived by her husband Michael, their young children Lukas and Eloise, her sister Elisabeth Carroll (Jim Carroll), her brother Thomas Lukas (Kelly Murphy) and her parents Robert and Maria Lukas.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Christine Morris Memorial Fund via www.youcaring.com.
