Nine receive Merit Scholarships

Nine Bellevue students have received National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

Nine Bellevue students have received National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

College-sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

The students are:

Arjun Bahl, Lakeside School, probably career field medicine, Washington University in St. Louis;

Caroline W. Beyer, Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, probably career field public health, Boston College;

Katerina L. Bomke, home school, probably career field biology/Asian languages, Arizona State University;

Xiaoyue Chen, Newport High School, probably career field patent law, University of Southern California;

Alyssa K. Creason, Stanford University EPGY Online High School, probably career field writing, University of Idaho;

Erika I. Gniffke, Newport High School, probably career field international relations, University of Washington;

Logan J. Gowdey, International School, probably career field law, Boston University;

Victoria A. Liem, Lakeside School, probable career field biomedical/chemical engineering, Purdue University;

Peter V. Montine, Newport High School, probable career field mechanical engineering, University of Washington.
