As budgets tighten for many local governments, the community 4th of July fireworks celebration finds itself on the cutting room floor – but not in Newcastle.
With the support of the new waterfront development, Lake Boren Townhomes, the fireworks will light up the sky as they have for the past five years over Lake Boren Park, 84th Avenue and Coal Creek Parkway.
When approached by city officials with the sponsorship offer, developer Claudio Guincher didn’t hesitate.
The new townhome project, which broke ground in April, sits across from Lake Boren Park on the Northwest shore of the lake.
“Future homeowners will have a front row seat to the fireworks celebration,” Guichner said. “This is something we want them to be able to enjoy for years to come.”
Newcastle Mayor, John Dulcich, agreed. The 4th of July celebration is a fun, family affair and a great opportunity to build community and enjoy the natural beauty of Newcastle, Dulcich said.
The Lake Boren Townhomes’ 4th of July Celebration starts at 6 p.m. and will feature live music, various food vendors and fireworks at 10 p.m. Bring family members and blankets and enjoy the festivities at Lake Boren Park.
