New audit of county animal services to be presented Monday

The leadership, organization, and operation of the King County Animal Care and Control program will be the subject of a new audit to be released Monday at a briefing before the Metropolitan King County Council’s Committee of the Whole.

The begins at 9:30 a.m. with the audit presentation expected around 10 a.m. in Council chambers on the 10th floor of the King County Courthouse in Seattle.

The performance audit was conducted by the office of King County Auditor Cheryle Broom. It is the fourth report on the operations of King County Animal Care and Control presented to the County Council over the past two-and-a-half years.

A proposed new motion relating to the county’s provision of animal sheltering and animal control services is also being introduced on Monday.
