That’s one way to cool off: McCormick Park employees called to report a man in the bushes shaking and possibly doing drugs. Officers contacted the man, who was “swimming” in the beauty bark and naked except for a jacket. Officers reported that he was visibly high and in the early stages of excited delirium. He was taken to Overlake Medical Center, where doctors found he was high on meth and bath salts.

Armed Uber driver: Officers responded to a reported assault with a gun near Northeast 16th Place and Bel-Red Road. Three separate Uber users claimed that their Uber driver pointed his gun at them. The gun was taken as evidence and the case was taken to the King County prosecutor for review.

The woman now wants her mother to be prosecuted for kidnapping and have the child removed from her care.

Marijuana stash up in smoke: A pedestrian walking down the 15500 block of SE Eighth St. observed a residential fire and called 911. Responding firefighters quickly discovered that the house was being used as a marijuana growing operation with close to 200 plants. The police and Eastside Narcotics Task Force were notified and an investigation is ongoing. This was the second growing operation uncovered in the last week.

Drug-induced drama: Numerous occupants of an apartment complex in the 14700 block of NE 29th St. called police about a man screaming and yelling in the complex and on the street. Responding officers found him lifting rocks in a drug-induced state and detained him.
