Qualified seniors and disabled renters in Bellevue are eligible for the Senior Services Minor Home Repair Program, which provides affordable home repairs and solutions to safety issues.
Qualified plumbers and carpenters will make repairs on leaky pipes and faucets, clogged drains, broken steps, and rotted and unsafe porches. Technicians also will replace defective toilets and sinks and install smoke detectors. Hundreds of homeowners have taken advantage of the services since it began in 1975.
To qualify, single residents must have a monthly income of no more than $3,733. Couples with combined incomes of $4,267 or less are eligible. At most, qualified homeowners and disabled renters pay a $10 per hour labor charge and receive all materials at cost. Estimates are provided free of charge.
