The overnight camp is for children who have been affected by the drug/alcohol abuse of a family member.

“As a leading provider of counseling and substance abuse services for youth on the Eastside, YES appreciates how both the financial and volunteer support provided by generous corporations like Microsoft helps extend the agency’s capacity to provide a lifeline for kids and families,” said YES Executive Director, Patti Skelton-McGougan.

Seven volunteers spent a morning assembling goody bags and healthy snack packs along with adding notes of positive affirmations to water bottles. The materials will be used at camps over the upcoming school year.

Camp Mariposa helps youth impacted by a family member’s substance use to develop positive coping skills, feel less isolated, and avoid repeating generational patterns. It’s made possible with the partnership and support of the Moyer Foundation.
