Master Builders construct ramps for disabled

Daniel Trindle has needed a wheelchair ramp. Now the Bellevue young man has one thanks to a project Saturday, May 16 sponsored by the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.

Volunteers from the Master Builders, and suppliers such as BMC West, which supplied all the wood, constructed the ramp at Trindle’s home in Bellevue Bridle Trails area.

The project was part of an event called Ramp-a-thon, one of 100 community events planned by the Master Builders to note a century of operation.

“The homebuilding industry has been a vital force in the economic health of King and Snohomish counties,

and Washington State for a century,” said John Day, of John Day Homes in North Bend and 2009

President of the Master Builders. “We are proud to celebrate our 100th year of building and remodeling

homes by performing community service and improvement projects in King and Snohomish counties.

In addition to the free wheelchair access ramps for disabled homeowners, volunteers are building and maintaining shelters for homeless individuals and families, and educating youth about careers in construction.
