A Renton man and his girlfriend are facing multiple felony charges after allegedly robbing four escorts at gunpoint in Bellevue over the past month.

Damario Roberts, 27, is accused of impersonating a police officer — including using a fake FBI identification card — before tying up an escort and stealing two cell phones and cash.

According to the alleged victim, she had a “date” scheduled for 11:30 p.m. on April 1 at the Avalon Apartments in Bellevue. When Roberts showed up, he identified himself as a police office, brandished a Glock 23 handgun and handcuffed her. Before tying her up with rope, he displayed a white card inside his wallet, acting as if it was his police credentials.

After telling her he was taking her down to the police station, Roberts allegedly demanded her wallet, passport and money. He ended up stealing $360 in cash and her two cell phones. Roberts reportedly threatened to punch her when she tried to resist giving him the phones.

Roberts’ girlfriend, Jennie Cheun, 26, reportedly acted as a getaway car driver and lookout, using a walkie-talkie to communicate with her boyfriend during the robbery.

Bellevue Police officers apprehended the pair on April 27, and Cheun admitted to participating in four robberies of escorts in Bellevue.

Roberts and Cheun have both been charged with robbery in the first degree, and Roberts faces two additional charges of unlawful imprisonment and criminal impersonation in the first degree. Police are still working to identify the other victims, at which point Roberts and Cheun could face additional charges.

Roberts and Cheun are being held on $750,000 and $500,000 bail, respectively.
