Local Scouts earn rank of Eagle

The Cascade District of Boy Scouts had 43 scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in 2010.

The Cascade District of Boy Scouts had 43 scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in 2010. Young men, ages 11-17, had to advance through several ranks learning leadership skills, earning 21 merit badges and completing an service project for a local non-profit organization.

The Cascade District consists of troops from Bellevue, Mercer Island, Medina and Yarrow Point. The scouts reported their achievements at the Bellevue City Council meeting on Dec. 13.

The 2010 Cascade District Eagle Scouts are: Aaron Azose, Aaron Lang, Alex Deszo, Alex Early, Alex Friele, Alex Lodge, Brandon Rea, Carson Tidyman, Chase Jones, Chase Middlesworth, Cory Black, Creston Bunch, Daniel Olleman, David Browning, David Cannon, David Yingling, Dillon Moore, Ethan Spading, Hal Wright, Jared Escoto, Jared Thomas, John Fowler, Jon Vossler, Jonathan Wilber, Jospeh Toles, Kent Buboltz, Kevin Yuskaitis, Kurt Peterson, Kyle Tong, Leland Shields, Logan Fuhriman, Luke Marcoe, Matt Young, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Max Bruch, Mitchell Lowe, Morgan Werry, Nathaniel Hill, Ricky Adams, Tracy Wright, William Davidson, William Drake, Zachary Niehaus, Zedekiah Walter.

The scouts donated approximately 5,900 hours to the following non-profit organizations: Camp Sambica, Bellevue, Mercer island, Kirkland, Newcastle, Washington State Parks, Marymoor community and Snohomish County; Mercer Island, several Bellevue and Eastside Christian schools, Hopelink, Jubilee Reach Center, Lake Heights Family YMCA, Olive Crest, Eastside Domestic Violence, Woodridge Swim Club, Seattle Humane Society, King County Family Services, St. Louise and Sammamish Foursquare Church.
