Leadership Eastside president Stephanie Mapelli is stepping down from the position she has held with the organization for the last five years to relocate to Montana with her family.

The LE Board of Directors has appointed a search committee to recruit an individual who will have the opportunity to expand the organization’s position on the Eastside.

Mapelli joined the organization in 2006 as president after she participated in the program as a class member during its inaugural year.

LE Board Chair Earl Bell, on behalf of the LE Board of Directors, commended Mapelli for her leadership and service in guiding the LE program through its formative years.

“Stephanie has been a tireless champion of LE and its values, and a friend to us all,” said Bell. “We will miss her greatly, and it’s thanks to her efforts that LE is well-positioned for the next phase of its growth.”

LE serves the greater Eastside region by helping individuals who want to make a difference in their local communities through leadership roles in volunteerism and public service.

More than 140 Eastside organizations are currently benefiting from LE members’ volunteerism through 80 alumni and participants who are serving on nonprofit boards, commissions and chambers and 16 past members are holding or seeking public office.
