Leaders in 41st and 48th District races gaining separation

Rep. Ross Hunter and State Sen. Rodney Tom are beginning to pull away from their GOP challengers as Thursday’s vote count rolls in.

Hunter has gone up by 1,300 votes for a 52-48 edge. He began the race with a narrow lead over Diane Tebelius, but he has gained greater separation with each day’s returns.

Tom began his race down 134 votes to Gregg Bennett, and then pulled ahead by 400 after Wednesday’s tally. Tom’s lead expanded to 635 votes as of Thursday’s counts.

Deb Eddy has held a lead in excess of 10 points over Philip Wilson since Tuesday night, and she remains ahead 55-45 as of Thursday evening.

Results have held steady in the 41st District as well, as all leaders on election night maintained their leads. Republican Steve Litzow is ahead of incumbent Sen. Randy Gordon by 1,600 votes with 41,000 counted (51.64 percent to 48.36). Marcie Maxwell’s lead over Peter Dunbar has grown to more than 2,000 votes and Judy Clibborn has remained in the lead by a 58-42 margin.
