Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) continues it’s 26th Season with a stage adaptation of James and the Giant Peach, based on the book by Roald Dahl.
The play will be performed Feb. 25 through March 7.
After a rampaging rhinoceros ate James Henry Trotter’s parents, he is forced to live with his horrible aunts Spiker and Sponge.
One day James meets a wizard who gives him some magic crystals. When James drops the crystals on a peach tree, the enchanted tree begins to grow and grow and grow some more. When James climbs inside the peach to hide from his despicable aunts, the gargantuan peach breaks from the tree and rolls down the hill.
And so begins the adventure for James and a peculiar and a group of friends, a rag-tag group of oversized insects.
The production includes 14 students, ages 8-13, from Bellevue, Mercer Island, Renton, Issaquah, Newcastle, Sammamish, Kirkland and Seattle.
