The Seattle Humane Society and Safeway have teamed up for a pet food drive to help fill the shelves of the society’s pet food bank. Collection barrels will be set up in your local Safeway stores throughout July. Cat food is the society’s greatest need.
The Bellevue-based Humane Society’s pet food bank provides pet food every month to more than 1,200 pets belonging to low-income seniors and people disabled by AIDS. More than 930 pet owners benefit from the service.
Humane Society volunteers will pack, load and deliver canned and dry pet food to local senior centers, low-income housing complexes, food banks and individual homes.
