Humane Society event to feature Mariners game

The Seattle Humane Society will hold a Day at the Mariners Sept. 16 with a game between the Mariners and the Chicago White Sox. A special discounted price is offered with $7 of every ticket sold going toward the life-saving work of the Bellevue-based Seattle Humane Society.

The society’s MaxMobile, a 33-foot mobile adoption, education and animal rescue vehicle, will be at the game, parked near the Safeco Field Garage Plaza. It will be loaded with dogs and cats waiting for homes of their own. The MaxMobile will be there at 5 p.m., and the game starts at 7:10 p.m..

There also will be an on-site pet food drive. Donations will help fill the shelves of the Humane Society’s Pet Food Bank, which serves more than 750 low-income clients and senior clients every month. The greatest need is for canned cat food.

The deadline to buy tickets through this special offer is September 14 at 5 p.m. View reserved seats are $15, field level seats are $32. Tickets can be purchased online at Mariners.com/SeattleHumane. Tickets for groups of 25 or more, or seats with wheelchair access, can be purchased over the phone by calling Yoko McCann at 206-346 4505.
