Homeschoolers compete to build communications skills

A total of 151 teens from a four-state area will compete in speech and debate at Washington’s first qualifying tournament of the season, Jan.21-23, in Bellevue.

The National Christian Forensics & Communications Association has sanctioned the competitions so homeschoolers can exercise analytical and oratorical skills to prepare them to address life’s issues from a Biblical perspective.

The competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Bellevue Church of Christ, 1212 104th Ave. SE. The event is sponsored by Silversmith Speech and Debate Club of Auburn. The event is free.
